How much can playing sports improve your health and fitness? Science has confirmed that playing sports is an excellent way to boost your health and fitness.

Playing sport is generally an excellent way to improve your health and fitness. Sometimes you don’t feel the motivation to pound away on a treadmill or in the gym, but an invitation to play some sport would get you moving. While playing sports is not a substitute for your workout, you can embrace many benefits that would help you stay on top of your health and fitness. The following are the sports that can create a significant impact on your lifestyle:


  1. Swimming 


While your muscles are getting a good workout, your cardiovascular system is, too. Swimming makes your heart and lungs strong. Swimming is so good for you that researchers share it may even reduce your risk of death. Compared with inactive people, swimmers have about half the risk of death. Some other studies have shown that swimming may help lower blood pressure level and control blood sugar level. While more research needs to be done in this area, the researchers conclude that swimming is a potentially powerful way to relieve stress quickly.





  1. Tennis 

 

Tennis can be a great workout and lots of fun. Playing tennis has many health benefits including:

 

  • increasing aerobic capacities

  • lowering resting heart rate and blood pressure

  • improving metabolic function

  • increasing bone density

  • lowering body fat

  • improving muscle tone, strength and flexibility

  • increasing reaction times

 


  1. Football

 

Football counts towards your recommended amount of aerobic activity and brings benefits including reducing your risk of certain chronic illnesses such as heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. It will help improve your overall cardiovascular health and you should see your endurance increase over time if played frequently.

The combination of running, walking, sprinting and kicking can bring benefits including increased stamina, improved cardiovascular health, reduced body fat, improved muscle strength and tone, increased bone strength and improved coordination.


  1. Cricket.

Cricket fever is in the air, nowadays. Cricket helps in so many ways:-
  • Increased Stamina and Endurance: the constant running across the field helps to increase stamina.

  • Balance: balance is also something one can improve through this sport because of the utmost concentration required while playing cricket.

  • Flexibility: learning to move freely is something that comes with practice in cricket, thus improving on flexibility of an individual.

  • Coordination: when catching or throwing the ball, a cricket player improves his hand eye coordination

  • Cardio: Cricket includes a lot of throwing and sprinting across the field, which is a great cardiovascular activity.

  • Improved Motor Skills: Bowling, batting and catching the ball require gross motor skills. These are such activities that make the large body muscles to work.

  • Muscle Toning: like any other sport, cricket also helps with gaining and toning your muscles.
