It is rightly said that:
Everyone can experience the joy and blessing of generosity,
because everyone has something to give.
Christmas is one such festival which not only celebrates
Love, Reconciliation and Peace but it also brings with it the traditional
practice of giving a gift during Christmastide which is symbolic of the
presentation of gifts by the Three Wise Men to the infant Jesus.
It also provides the chance to help those who are less
fortunate than us and need more support. The same thing was done by SYNC as it
donated Rice, Sugar, Biscuits and Bottled water in the Donation Drive for
Chiplun and Mahad by NSS unit of HR college.
It also reminds me of the incident that how every Christmas in my school I got to selflessly serve the needy by providing them with necessities and once I also got to interact with a group of children living in a slum as a part of a wellness program to teach them. The experience was a mind -boggling one as the immense pleasure I received after mingling with these children was unforgettable and still remains afresh in my mind because the warmth which they had and the enthusiasm which they showed towards learning made me believe in the fact that
It's not always the
bucks which are counted as giving, rather a small act of kindness is enough to
make a person’s day, smooth their path or put a smile on their face.
And that's when you
should remember that you have offered something of yourself that is greater
than anything materialistic. We often forget the fact that a gift's value isn't
determined by its size or price, the true value and joy of a gift is how it
makes the recipient feel cared for.
On this note I would like to terminate in the words of
Mother Teresa that, “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into
giving.
“Well, can you think of a time when a gift you gave to someone else filled you with the joy of giving?
