Mental illness : A war with self

"There is hope even when your brain tells you there isn't" - John Green

As you read the quote above, every dark cloud has to pass away and the sun has to shine again.

Today, 80%of the youth is suffering from depression and mental disorders and most of them are unaware and the one's who realize don't want to speak it out .

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

Individuals with psychological disorders are at greater risk for decreased quality of life, educational difficulties, lowered productivity and poverty, social problems, vulnerability to abuse, and additional health problems.

Mental illness is a leading cause of disability. Untreated mental illness can cause severe emotional, behavioral and physical health problems.

Unaddressed mental health problems can have a negative influence on homelessness, poverty, employment, safety, and the local economy. They may impact the productivity of local businesses and health care costs, impede the ability of children and youth to succeed in school, and lead to family and community disruption.

According to the National Institute for Mental Health, over 90 percent of suicides have depression or another mental disorder as factors.

Mental health problems typically do not cause physical symptoms in and of themselves. Depression, however, can indirectly cause weight loss, fatigue and loss of libido, among others. Eating disorders, a separate class of mental health disorders, can cause malnutrition, weight loss, amenorrhea in women, or electrolyte imbalances caused by self-induced vomiting. This makes eating disorders among the most deadly of mental health disorders.

In the short-term, mental health problems can cause people to be alienated from their peers because of perceived unattractive personality traits or behaviors. They can also cause anger, fear, sadness and feelings of helplessness if the person does not know or understand what is happening.

But you know if there is problem there is a solution too...

Mental illness can be cured with therapy and meditation. It is seen in many case that with regular meditation and pranayam our stress level decrease and positive thoughts increase, also it activated our happy hormones and improves concentration.

And it is not important to start meditation after stress and depression , it always said prevention is better than cure , so start your mediation from today itself , give your self some time, love and care because you deserve it.

Giving time to yourself and surviving through the hard is what makes a person win!
