Coping with Exam Stress : A guide

Exam time is around the corner and stress is expected to hang high on the head of every student.

We all know that now the session of exams is coming and when the exams is on the way then student has a stress and fear of getting average marks. So we all now that exams always create a wave of anxiety. All students including me feel the pressure and stress of clearing the exam.

All students face pressure from those external factors rather than writing the exam in itself! External factors are how their parents or teachers feel when their child or students scoring low marks, also many students started getting categorized based on their marks as “good” or “average” or as” failures”.

And because of these labels are given to students, it increases the pressure on any student. Furthermore, expectations from parents and teachers also add on the already existing pressure. No one want low marks or negative label.

Because of these stress and anxiety also can’t or lose concentration on studies. Because of less concentration on studies and this leads to increases the difficulty in grasping concepts while learning, which adds to the anxiety, and this emotional cycle continues. Sometimes they get ill because of taking tension about exam and in this they don’t take care properly.

Dealing with Exam Stress: Being in stress is not a very good state of mind and one should try to get over it as soon as possible.

DON’T (ALWAYS) LISTEN TO OTHERS:

As the old saying goes: "comparison is the thief of joy". Don’t compare yourselves with other students because all students are not same. Stop listening to people, they are not helping you. Sometimes may you listen to others and you start following this but in end this will lead you giving more stress. May be sometimes you are doing right and after that you listen to other people like how they are studies and you follow but you feel like you aren't progressing as well as them. Plus, if they themselves are stressed this can rub off on to you and other people’s stress is not what you need right now.

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF TO TAKE BREAKS:

Studies show that taking a break from studying helps improve your productivity, concentration, energy, and creativity, and rejuvenates your brain so you get more out of your study session. Taking breaks from studying every ninety minutes or so can improve both focus and attention. If you force yourself to study all the day, day before the exam then may be this make you fear or dislike studying and examinations even more. Take break of 20 to 30 minutes after studying continuously for 2 to 3 hours.

EXERCISE DAILY:

It can feel like a waste of valuable study time and effort to spend any time or energy on exercise. But Exercise and studying go hand-in-hand. Exercise improves mood and sleep, and reduces stress and anxiety. 20 minutes of exercise before studying can improve concentration and help you focus your learning. Try to do at least some exercise each day, even if it is only taking a brisk walk. Exercise is also help you to refresh your mood and help you to focus on your studies.

PREPARATION IS KEY:

Preparing for an exam can be stressful at times when we have a lot to study but restricted period of time. But this idea may be help to you to prepare better, Parents and little brothers and sisters don't have to be annoying around exam time. Use them to your advantage. Explain an answer to a question to them. That will help you to get it clear in your head, and also to highlight any areas where you need more work.

ADD SOME “ME-TIME”:

Also in your time table add some me-time because this give you peace and happiness like leave your studies for least 30 minutes and do whatever makes you happy like playing with your little cousins, watching TV, playing any sport this will activate your brain and can reduce your stress levels too. Taking some “me” time and taking a break from studies help you to concentrate on your exam and you also free refresh after the spending some time with you. We hope that these tips help you to reduce your stress and anxiety. Make sure to look after your physical and mental well being.

SYNC club wishes you best of luck for upcoming exams!

Why do we say SYNC Family? : Recruitment Special

Why do we say Sync Family?

Sync members obviously know it better!!! 😎

That's why we are here to answer the "Why" of this question!

Hi, we're Khushi and Yazad- presidents of SYNC for this year and we're proud to call our SYNCBEES a family!

A family where everyone feels comfortable around each other. Where members help each other and enjoy together!!

Our members are our family. We do all kinds of craziness together even though it's online, we find our ways to enjoy and stay connected with our FAM. At Sync, you will find that work and enjoyment goes hand in hand.

Did you notice what we did for September? Our members took the stage and hosted various creative workshops for our members. They taught others what they had learnt.

Aur ham sabko pata hai ki baatne se pyaar badhta hai :p

Sync members took charge and held workshops like Dance, HIIT, MMA, Zumba and Editing. We had 2 Game Nights where everyone enjoyed a lot.

However, it wasn't very soon that the games night turned into a DJ night and all of us started grooving on Punjabi music and had the time of our lives!

We've had so much fun online, just think about how much FUN we all would have working Offline!!!!

Every FY joins Clubs to learn something new and have some good memories. SYNC has given it all to us. A club family, an online family and the best family!!

Now that we're expanding with open hearts, we are so thrilled to have you guys be a part of our small community!

Myths About SYNC Club: Recruitment Special

SYNC: Synthesis of Yoga and Niyama Council is a club of HR College of Commerce and Economics. Most people will associate SYNC with Yoga, Physical fitness and just any club that promotes being fit and fine. Wait, that's not it about SYNC. Most people like me would not be as interested in fitness. Therefore, I would always wonder and question whether the members would accept my personality? Some common answered doubts included: Will I be able to adapt to the ambience of club? Would I be able to contribute well and go further with the team? Only after joining the club I realised that these were some common myths about SYNC Club that everyone knew of. Hence, to help you clear up the noise, I am addressing 5 common myths and misconceptions about our club.

Myth:  SYNC is only a Yoga Club

Fact: Yes, SYNC is a yoga club. However the club also organizes other fun activities like Zumba , Dance , exploring talents of members, Mental Health session, nutrition and diet related seminars. SYNC tries to celebrate the overall well-being of its members.

Myth:  SYNC is only a Fitness Centre

Fact: Well, SYNC motivates fitness but it's not only a fitness centre. The club participates and organizes events and collaborates with other clubs to encourage club members to try new creative things and get a chance to test their ability. SYNC’s Flagship event Elysium is all about showcasing talents. Many industry experts are invited to judge and grace the events.

Myth:  SYNC Members are all just Fitness Enthusiasts

Fact: SYNC happily welcomes everyone to join the club in all its activities. One does  not necessarily have to be a fitness enthusiast to join the SYNC Family! The ones who are not fitness enthusiasts often

become really conscious of their lifestyle choices after joining the club from organizing to attending the health related sessions. The aim of this club is to teach everyone associated with it the value of living a healthy balanced life. Many members who have no idea about Yoga Asanas and postures also  understand the importance of it through the club

Myth:  SYNC only Motivates Physical Exercise

Fact: We don’t just speak about physical fitness but we also encourages a sound mental wellbeing through our sessions. Sync also organizes mental health sessions like the ones with Sadhguru's Isha Foundation and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living Seminar. The club believes that mental health is equally significant as physical fitness. Specifically in SYNC's online events journey many sessions  were related to an individual's mental well-being.

Myth: SYNC doesn't have sessions where members can bond and get to know each other better

Fact  :  Recently, SYNC organized many bonding sessions with the members of the club. In these  sessions each member was able to conduct an event with the special skills and talents that they had. In the month of September the members learnt from each other the art of editing, Mixed Martial Arts, Zumba and High Intensity Interval Training.

The SYNC Club of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics is therefore a place for all. Fitness physically and mentally is the central idea of the club but not its only aim. We welcome you to join our family!
